Chef Michael has 38 years of culinary experience and graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts & Restaurant Management. He apprenticed at the Drake Hotel in Chicago and also holds apprenticeships in professional baking and meat cutting. In addition, he and his wife Debra owned and operated The Oaks Dining & Spirits, an award winning restaurant, then went on to own & operate their own 'from scratch' bakery as well. Mike is active in the community with Optimists USA, Community Christian School, and also teaches within the Pro-Start Culinary program at Portage High School.
